Sleep science for normal people — the evidence-based stack, without the wellness overlay

Sleep has become a wellness commodity: trackers, supplements, podcast empires built around two or three findings. The actual evidence base — what helps most people sleep better, what's worth measuring, what's hype — is smaller and more boring than the surrounding industry suggests. This page is for someone who wants the evidence-based stack without buying into the influencer ecosystem around it, organized by what each source contributes: the foundational primary research, the popularizers who get most of it right, the tools and practices that have actually-shown evidence, and the critical voices worth knowing. One deliberate omission: the consumer sleep-tracker market is not surveyed in depth — these devices are mostly downstream of the research and not yet accurate enough at the population level to drive personal protocol changes confidently.

An evidence-based sleep syllabus, no biohacker stack required.
