Lionel Messi, the man that needs no introduction. The Argentina international is regarded as one of, if not the greatest football player in the history of the sport. Messi, aged 33, has not only inspired the next generation of talent coming through the ranks; he has simply captivated the entire footballing world. Born and raised in central Argentina, Messi relocated to Spain to join Barcelona at the age of 13, for whom he made his competitive debut aged 17 in October 2004. He established himself as an integral player for the club within the next three years, and in his first uninterrupted season in 2008–09 he helped Barcelona achieve the first treble in Spanish football; that year, aged 22, Messi won his first Ballon d'Or. When it comes to personal accolades, Messi, who stands at just 5’7”, has achieved pretty much everything there is to achieve. The Argentina forward has won the La Liga title 10 times with Barcelona – a club that he has transformed since his debut against Espanyol in 2004 – with four Champions League winners medals and six Copa del Rey titles to his name. Married for three years but together for over a decade, Lionel "Leo" Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, have three adorable sons together, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.
