Vox Populi Vox Dei

To start off, Vox populi is a Latin phrase that literally means "voice of the people". It is used in English in the meaning "the opinion of the majority of the people". While the later part refers to 'Voice of God'. The phrase "Vox Populi Vox Dei" was first used in a letter from Alcuin to Charlemagne in 798. <br /> <br /> The complete translation therefore, reads "the voice of the people is the voice of God".
